Travel struggles: why don’t we talk about this?

Chiloe is one of those places in which the unwitting traveller could easily get stuck. It is a quaint place, but for me, it’s charm lay in the fact that is posited the first place where I truly felt comfortable and happy to be travelling. The island of Chiloe is the kind of place that the unwitting traveller could easily get stuck. It is known for its ancient wooden churches which dot every small village or town on the island. Since many of these look more like weather beaten

Day 21: sunsets and moonrises

Although I was unable to unleash my true inner hippy by visiting Stonehenge on the solstice, I thought I would still aim to catch the sunset. Luckily, I was able to do so in a stunning location- the temple of Poseidon at Sounion. #30wilddays #summer #ruins #greece #wildswimming #temple #solstice #Wild #beach

Day 13: start a grass brass band

It turns out it is a lot harder than it looks. But I practiced throughout the day and, eventually, taught myself to whistle.

Day 6

Venice is a city of water. It has been this way since it was established. As soon as we arrived and stepped out of the station, we were faced with the Grand Canal that curves through the middle of Venice. The main form of transport is by boat- gondola, vaporetto or the numerous private motor boats that line the sides of the canal. But after having read about how unsanitary the canals are, I decided against it. Apparently, 90% of the waste from Venice is flushed directly into

Freshfield

Freshfield is a beautiful, desolate beach that backs onto woods just north of Liverpool city centre. When I visited, there were no dog-walkers or children. It was a misanthrope’s paradise, a haven from society. In winter, you can see why no one visits it. The fierce wind from the shore whips up a furious sandstorm in the dunes and attempting to scale the dunes results in being practically blinded. Once you have crossed the wall of sand, the beach stretches out flat for miles
